The PLA Air Force (PLAAF) has converted some of its retired Jian-7 fighters into unmanned target drone to simulate enemy aircraft in air-to-air and surface-to-air weapon testing. The pilot seat on these aircraft has been removed and replaced by radio control equipment. The Jian-7 target drone can fly at supersonic speed and simulate typical manoeuvres of modern combat aircraft.

PLA空军（PLAAF）已经把一些退役歼-7战斗机改装成无人靶机，在空对空和地对空武器测试中去模拟敌方飞机。这些飞机上的飞行员座位已经被拆除用无线电操纵仪器代替。歼-7靶机能以超音速飞行而且模拟现代战斗机的典型动作。
